NASRO is very excited to partner with the Colorado Association of School Resource Officers to hold the 2022 National School Safety Conference!
This year's conference will be hosted at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in Aurora, Colorado from July 3 - July 8, 2022. This will mark our 32nd year of gathering to train school resource officers, have fellowship, enjoy family-friendly activities, and learn from top-notch keynote speakers including member favorite Bernie James, J.D., and former Columbine High School principal Frank DeAngelis.

This year's conference will include the 4th of July holiday, and we will be providing a family-friendly evening of celebrations. Spend the day enjoying Gaylord's many pool-related amenities including an indoor and outdoor pool, a water park, and a lazy river. As the day progresses, we will host our annual cornhole tournament outside underneath the Rocky Mountain sky, followed by a live music event with food and beverages. It's sure to be an Independence Day you'll never forget.

Bernie James, J.D., Professor of Law at Pepperdine University, School Law Update
Bernie James, a professor at Pepperdine University, is a contributing editor to the NASRO Journal of School Safety. He specializes in Civil Rights, Constitutional Law, and Education Law, and is the author of the textbook Education Policy and the Law: Cases and Commentary and numerous articles on law, education, and religion. He lectures in the United States and Canada on constitutional issues and serves as a commentator for the national and local media discussing U.S. Supreme Court decisions.
Frank DeAngelis, Former Principal, Columbine High School, Leadership Lessons from Columbine and Beyond
Frank DeAngelis was a staff member at Columbine High School in the Jeffco School District in Littleton Colorado, since 1979, starting as a Social Studies teacher and filling the roles of Head Baseball Coach, Assistant Football Coach, Dean of Students, and Assistant Principal, before becoming the Principal in 1996. Frank is a Colorado native, completing his K-12 education in Denver-area schools, proceeding to graduate from Metropolitan State College and subsequently from the University of Colorado with a Masters Degree in Secondary Education and Social Studies, his Principal’s License, and Masters Degree from the University of Phoenix. Frank has been involved in numerous professional activities and associations and has received multiple awards for his teaching, leadership, and coaching skills. He has also been called upon to speak about recovery after a school tragedy at a variety of conferences and has assisted as a consultant after a number of other violent school events. He was selected as Colorado High School Principal of the Year and was one of the three finalists for National Principal of the Year. He received the Jefferson Country Lifetime Achievement Award and the Gandhi, King, Ikeda Community Builders Award. He retired in June of 2014 after 35 years at Columbine High School. He is presently serving as a consultant for safety and emergency management for the Jeffco School District in Colorado and continues to deliver speeches in the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center is conveniently located at 6700 North Gaylord Rockies Boulevard, Aurora Colorado. While the hotel does not offer an airport shuttle, the Denver airport is located just 6.3 miles from the property. Taxi fare is estimated at $35-40.

REGULAR Conference Registration Rate is current for January 16 - May 31, 2022.
Regular Conference registration is $500 for current NASRO members and $550 for non-members. You may register at this rate from January 16 - May 31, 2022. Meals are not provided.
Beginning June 1, 2022 conference registration will be $575 for current NASRO members and $625 for non-members. Meals are not provided.

Early Bird registration is only $450 and includes a one-year NASRO membership. To take advantage of this outstanding value, you must register and pay by January 15, 2022.

Cancellations made on or after June 1, 2022, or no-shows to the conference, will forfeit all registration fees.
NASRO reserves the right to cancel or reschedule training. If NASRO cancels or reschedules training due to weather or unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of NASRO, you are entitled to a full refund. NASRO is not responsible for travel arrangements, travel fees, or any expenses incurred by you as a result of such cancellations. If NASRO cancels a training in which you are enrolled, you will be contacted at the email address you provided when registering, so please be sure to provide a valid email address.
